About the Role
Overview:
ProxyLink is seeking a Java Developer with Capital Markets experience for a new contract opportunity in Toronto. This 12-month contract position starts ASAP and involves a hybrid work model with 2 days in the office. This role offers a unique chance to work with a leading employer in the local market, with potential for contract extension and conversion.

Compensation:
$62.25 - $70.75/Hourly

Responsibilities:
Serve as a lead Java developer in Capital Markets operations.
Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and deploy quality solutions to meet project objectives and client requirements.
Write, test, and debug code, and participate in code reviews.
Adhere to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, contributing to requirements, design, testing, and deployment documentation.
Ensure consistency in coding standards.
Maintain required documentation in the project repository and ensure knowledge transfer to full-time staff upon contract completion.
Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation as required.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Capital Markets experience, particularly in trading and middle/front office operations.
Demonstrable and in-depth experience in fixed income/capital markets and middle office operations and post-trade workflows.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in Java, Spring, SQL, and non-SQL databases (preferably MongoDB).
Experience with messaging frameworks.
Soft Skills:High social intelligence and excellent communication skills for brokering complex technical solutions between multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience of independently leading and delivering meaningful projects, including:
Leading a team of 4-6 developers.
Development and delivery periods spanning over a year.
High complexity projects, such as system migrations/replacements, onboarding of new business, and managing multiple stakeholders/high-profile/major importance projects.

Nice to Have:
Education in Computer Science or equivalent.
